Properties of the COLORADO SAND series:

ADA Colorado Sand does not change the chemical values of water. It is safe for all fish. It is perfect for creating a colorful substrate and for areas free from plants. It can be mixed with other sands or gravels. It does not color the water.


Substrate in the Natural Aquarium: this is a layer of gravel where aquatic plants are planted. It is a specific combination of different substances. The bottom layer of the substrate is a 5-10 mm layer of Power Sand, which contains organic substances of plant origin and slowly releases inorganic nutrients. They provide nutrients to the plants. Next is a layer of natural soil, Aqua Soil. Its particles are delicate, and its high content of organic acids contributes to root development. The last layer is light sand, used as decorative sand in the foreground of the composition. The reason for using such diverse materials is that such a system allows for healthy plant growth and a natural look of the aquarium. Although light sand does not contribute to plant growth as the Aqua Soil layer does, it is used for decorative purposes. However, it is important not to allow plants to overgrow in this area as it does not provide conditions for their growth.
