Mother Nature displays a multitude of her aspects, sometimes dynamic, sometimes delicate. The AQUA SOIL Amazonia series, made from selected natural soil, is a substrate designed with aquarists in mind who want to express the exquisite beauty of every tropical region in their aquariums.


Special properties of the AQUA SOIL Series:

The new improved formula does not cause cloudiness or discoloration of the water in a newly set-up aquarium. ADA Amazonia consists of granules of the ideal size and density for the healthy growth of plants. AQUA SOIL granules purify the water by capturing floating contaminants and, without any chemical interaction, reduce the water hardness and pH level to values that ensure comfortable growth of most aquatic plants.


Using AQUA SOIL with POWER SAND stimulates rapid development of bacteria in the substrate and creates ideal conditions for the root system of aquatic plants.


How to use:

- Do not rinse before use.
- For setting up a 60-liter aquarium (60cm x 30cm x 36cm), approximately 9 liters of substrate are needed.

Spread AQUA SOIL evenly at the bottom of the aquarium or on the POWER SAND substrate. Shape the surface to slope towards the front glass of the aquarium to enhance perspective. Place a plate or board before pouring water to prevent washing out nutrients from the substrate. After pouring water, re-level the AQUA SOIL substrate using tools such as a SAND FLATTENER. Planting is easier when the water level is low enough to just cover the AQUA SOIL substrate. After planting, fill the aquarium with water. Direct the water stream gently onto the plate or board. The water may become cloudy after pouring. This cloudiness disappears after a few hours with a properly functioning filtration system.


Substrate in a Natural Aquarium: It is a layer of gravel where aquatic plants are planted. It is a specific combination of various substances. The bottom layer of the substrate is a 5-10 mm layer of Power Sand, which contains organic substances of plant origin and slow-releasing inorganic nutrients. These nutrients provide nourishment to the plants. Next is a layer of natural Aqua Soil. Its particles are fine, and the high content of organic acids contributes to root development. The top layer is light sand, used as decorative sand in the foreground of the composition. The rationale for using such diverse materials is that this system allows for healthy plant growth and a natural look of the aquarium. Although the light sand does not contribute to plant growth as the Aqua Soil layer does, it is used for decorative purposes. However, it is important not to allow plants to overgrow in this area, as they do not have conditions for growth there.
